"All the drugs in the world couldn't make me feel how I feel right now, All the lust in the world couldn't make me feel how I feel right now, You can trust in me girl you can make me kill how I feel right now, Every touch of your curves make me feel I was ill but I'm healed right now"

RuudAwakening was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and moved to Broward County, FL at the age of 7. He left his separated parents behind to live with different uncles and aunts and likes to joke that he had 7 mothers to describe his childhood experience. With a longing to find where he truly belonged he came across the song “The Moment of Truth” by Gang Starr while playing PS2 Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 and his life has never been the same.

Through Hip Hop RuudAwakening was able to find comfort, solace, refuge, and a place where he can be understood. Indebted forever his purpose of existence is to be able to pay it forward through his own heartfelt music. RuudAwakening’s music can be described as all emotions come to one resting place and with influences such as Jay-Z, Kanye, Nas, Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky and too many others he’s able to do so in a refreshing yet piercing way.

Underneath the brazen, unabashed freedom of expression and creativity there’s always a deep undertone of spirituality in his music and RuudAwakening thanks Osho, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Eckhart Tolle, Mooji, Nithyananda, Sadhguru, Byron Katie, Swami Jyotirmayandanda, and also his dreaded group meeting teacher Kieran O’Toole amongst others for their dedication and devotion towards humanity.

“Catharsis” which refers to the purification and purgation of emotions—particularly pity and fear—through art or any extreme change in emotion that results in renewal and restoration, is the title of his debut album and to him is the awakening from depression, fear, misery, and insecurity to a place of abiding strength, assurance, and peace.
